Ready...Set...GO!!

Friday morning I took William to Dragon Park to meet up with some other kids. It is one of our favorite parks in Nashville. It was so much fun!

We tried a little bubble action but it ended as a big fail when the bubble machine didn't work.

So we headed over to the slide (which he loved!)....I'll let you take a look for yourself!
Down William goes!
Oh, wait! What is he doing now?
UP!

UP! UP!

What now?

down, down, down
Just so you can get a better idea of the speed that William was going check out these videos here and here! I know, overkill but he was so proud of himself in the second video I had to include it!

Next he decided to give the curvey slide a go.

Ended up not being as easy.....

.....but we still had a ball of fun with loads of laughter.

Do Over Day

Neither William or I got a good start to our day...maybe it's the cooler days, drastically shorter evenings, maybe we miss Pops since he has been busy on a ginormous floor, maybe we are both adjusting to William being in school 2 days a week or maybe all of the above. After all this week has been pretty crazy for both of us with all of the above plus other doings.
So both of us started our day over with a hug when I picked him up at 3:15. We went home for a snack (William really didn't eat that much at lunch), played with mega blocks in the living room and then off to the park.

For....a little rock playing in a dry creek

Yep, we tried to collect a few but William didn't like having rocks in his pocket.

Then a little slide fun.

over and over, again and again!

When we got home, dinner time, William got bath (time with Pops), stories (with mom) and fell asleep with mom in the reading chair (yep, mom was out too).

Not a bad ending to a day that had a rough start.

Today I love the..

Smell of: Fall
Sound of: William laughing
Taste of: hot black tea with lemon
Sight of: William sliding at the park
Feel of: My husband kissing me good night

Good Thing about Today:
- Second chance for a good day
- Caring and understanding husband

William's Awesome Day

Yep, William had an awesome day! Getting up early was a challenge for both of us. William had taken a later nap than usual yesterday day so it was difficult to get him to bed early. After a little encouragement we made it out the door and arrived at his preschool on time.

When we arrived William remembered that he had seen fish in the classroom and kept repeating 'ish, ish'. He made a beeline for his class and never looked back. I'm glad he was excited but I now know how my mother felt when she dropped me off 31 years ago at Miss Nellies Preschoool. I also hopped out of the car and never looked back.

William likes his teacher.

He watched the 'ish' (fish) in his classroom.

He played at the sand table

When I came to pick him up, I was greeted with a humongous hug. He knew exactly where his cubby and his lunch bag were and grabbed his lunch bag and headed out as if he had done it a million times before.

William got a fabulous report on his first day:

This evening we went out to eat to celebrate William's fabulous day and then did a quick park trip. It had been raining all day and we could tell William needed some outside time. He got time playing in the gym at school but that's not the same as being outside.

The park was wonderful. William ran and ran. Can you see him?
how about now?
Don't worry Pops is watching close by.
William also climbed and climbed.
...and played some more.
all the way around we went.

When we got home, William was exhausted and went straight to bed.

Hopefully William will have many more awesome days like today.
